Will lifting heavy weights make me bulky?
One of the biggest myths, for women, is that lifting heavy weights will make you bulky.

Here’s the answer:Sugar makes you bulky, lifting weights makes you tight and toned.

In fact, if you want a tighter more toned body, you should probably go a little heavier.

Here’s 5 reason why.

1. Women have a lot less testosterone than men – Testosterone is the reason men look like men, and women look like women.

Because men have much more testosterone, they are able to gain a lot more muscle.

2. The reason women think they will “bulk up” is because of the bulky body builder type women you see on magazines.

The majority of these “big” and “bulky” women are taking drugs (testosterone) to make them look  that way.

So, if you don’t add the “missing link” that makes men men and women women, you will never look that way.

3. Women get tighter and more toned from lifting weights.

Since women don’t have extra testosterone, they don’t develop a lot of MASS, but instead get TIGHT and TONED from lifting weights.

4. Bulking up is more about food and less about weights.

Let’s be real here, when you’re eating clean, you’re looking lean.

99% of the women I see who feel bulky are feeling that way because of what they EAT, not what they LIFT.

Soooooo, um, how is your diet anyway?

5. Weight gain when you first start lifting isn’t bad or what you think.

It’s near impossible to gain 10-15lbs of muscle in your first few weeks of lifting.

(If you did gain that much muscle, let us know how you did it so we can do it too:)

Nine times out of ten, the weight gain comes from water weight.

Kind of like when you get swelling from a strain, you can get a little swelling all over your body when you’re just starting out.

No big deal, it will go away soon 🙂

So what’s the take-a-way here?

Lift HEAVY.
Get STRONG
Train MEAN.
Eat LEAN.

And be BETTER today than YESTERDAY!
